How to Commission a Portrait

Upon contracting Art of Illusions, Angelina will come to the client's home. If the client is local, there will be no charge for this; however, if the client lives in another city, and requires travel expenses and significant time, a fee will be charged to compensate for time and travel. The other option would be that the client goes directly to the studio of Art of Illusions in Alta Loma, CA. Many photographs will be taken during this session, using camera and lighting suited for producing the best photo reference possible to paint a portrait. This step is very important. Professional photographs taken as photo reference for painting are different from photos taken that will remain photographs. It is essential to use the correct lighting and exposure in order to have as much visual information as possible to paint a good portrait.

After taking a series of photographs, Angelina will review the poses with her client, and the two will come to an agreement regarding the best pose, or combination of poses to use in creating the portrait.

A deposit of 50% is required before the photo session can begin. The balance is due and payable upon delivery of the portrait.

About Us

I am a classically trained artist and teach skill-based, classical drawing and painting. I teach art for private, home schooled, and charter school students. Some of the charter schools I'm associated with are Sage Oak, Sky Mountain, Gorman, Granite Mountain, and others. Classical art is the type of art that was taught from the Renaissance until the 19th century to generations of young people. I strongly believe that classical, skill- based, visual art is very important in the overall education of our youth, and present-day research is beginning to confirm that belief.
