Classes start the week of September 10, 2024 and last 1 1/2 hours each week for one semester.
This class teaches students how to draw and paint what is seen, rather than what the student thinks he sees. It improves right-brain problem solving skills, concentration, and seeing in context, through step-by step instruction. This type of instruction trains to eye, enabling the student to produce more realistic art and improves academic skills.
The fundamentals class starts at the beginning, teaching basic skills upon which students build to improve their abilities. In this class, students are introduced to measuring techniques, shading, color theory, and techniques to manipulate various mediums. Materials used include the following: graphite pencil, oil pastel, color pencil, pen & ink, watercolor and acrylic paint. Classes are non-sectarian.
